Fogarty Ridge Farm

Not just a fiber farm

We are a small farm located in the "Quiet Corner" of Connecticut. We are an hour away from Boston and Hartford and only a couple hours from New York. Despite being so close to everything, we are still secluded in this beautiful green valley of northeast Connecticut.
We jumped into the alpaca world with no hesitation. We wanted to be a part of this growing industry and also wanted to have these beautiful and majestic animals for our children to enjoy while they are young. Our main focus is fiber quality. I have met wonderful and well established breeders that have helped me build my herd. Many beginner alpaca farmers make the mistake of getting any alpaca they can get their hands on for the lowest price. My females have been hand picked with the help of my experienced mentors. The herdsires that my females have been bred to are high quality animals that will add the fiber quality I desire to my herd. I am in the process of acquiring my first herdsire as well. As this is a logical next step for the beginner alpaca farmer, I made sure to make the best decision on who's genetics I wanted to add to my already impeccable females.
In addition to alpacas we also breed registered Pygora Goats and Capora Goats. These goats are Angora and Pygmy crosses. They posses the Mohair locks with the added fineness of a cashmere-like fleece. They are also a perfect size and temperament. The Pygora goat is what started our whole fiber farm adventure. If you have never had the opportunity to work with Pygora, you are really missing out. Email me for more information on the goats.
