Huacaya Herdsires

When choosing a herdsire, it's generally enough to know that legendary Peruvian Hemingway and Accoyo Camilio are his ancestors. Studmaster, MSA Peruvian Cannonero can boasts the above, but he's also grandson to one of the truly great dams in the U.S. Peruvian Navidad who has put champions in show rings all of her life. Her offspring are in the breeding programs of the best alpaca farms in the U.S. Add to this that Cannonero has Hemingway on both sides of his pedigree. Cannonero is a medium fawn blockbuster, representative of superior genetics all displayed with a dense, super soft handling fleece that parts like a book in rows of shiny, crimped fiber. He's bold, square and covered to the ground. No wonder, against some of the best competition in the US, he was color champion at the Redmond AWE show in 2003.

Cannonero's grandsires are the elite of the elite. Accoyo Camilio, his paternal grandsire, was the top fawn pick in the largest import of Accoyo fawn herd sires to date. He' extremely fine with incredible shear weights, heavy of bone and perfect conformation. And Hemingway on his mother's side, is legendary with more champion elite quality progeny than any other herdsire in the US.

PCA Spartacus (Cannonero's sire), himself a multi-champion, is from the acclaimed Pacific Crest breeding program. Cannonero's dam, MSA Sorpresa, is a stunning white female out of Hemingway and Peruvian Navidad. P. Navidad is the female equivalent of Hemingway. Every one of her offspring has been a champion. Her daughter, Sorpresa, a foundation female for Morning Sun Alpacas, has produced more show winners than any other dam in their breeding program.
