I wanted a classic, true black Kobe son for our rare-colored suri program, so I ventured over to my friends,' Nancy and David TenHulzen's, pens at the 2004 AOBA National show.
No one even needed to tell me that Adonis was a Kobe son, it was written all over him.
I agreed to purchase him the following day.
AOBA was his very first show and he took second place in his juvenile black class there, which was pretty nice.
He has gone on to complete and finish in the ribbons at every show he has attended.
I always strive to acquire males with dam lines that I also admire, so it was extremely important to me that Adonis' dam was among the TenHulzens' favorite producers.
That she is sired by the great 4P. Meteor is icing on the cake.
Adonis' dam, Adrianna, by the way, is a true black as well.
Adonis began breeding just after his second birthday, but since being shorn, he has really kicked in as a breeding male.
We hesitate to put hefty stud fees on unproven males, no matter how much we like their lineage and phenotype, so until Adonis' cria hit the ground, his fee will be $1500.
We do expect that will go up as soon as we see the results of his work here!
