Mister Pierre, at age twelve, still is going strong.
Last year, he surprised a lot of us, by siring his first colored offspring ever in an outside breeding to a true black dam.
His son, Vernados, is a solid medium fawn and has done extremely well in the show-ring.
We are not surprised, as his offspring have been consistently spectacular over the years.
Pierre's dam, Peruvian Sequins W662, has gone on to produce a number of key white suri stud males across the country, including SA Accoya Excitation and Aragon.
Of course, we do not know who Pierre's sire is, as Pierre was Sequins' first cria in the US, but this makes him a unique line indeed -- only divine intervention could produce another Mister Pierre!
Pierre is a gentle, efficient breeder -- he is pretty darned accurate, too.
I think he must have listened to Dr. Sumar's repro lectures, because he never breeds for more than ten minutes.
In fact, if you hold with the theory that female offspring of males with considerable testicular mass will have greater breeding longevity, then it would be worth considering a breeding to Mister Pierre.
Females visiting our boys' barn are always treated to Mister Pierre's siren song, whether they are headed in his direction or not.
After all, he knows he's got "it."
And that's all we have to say about that!
