Goldstrike is aptly named. He is a stunning son of Snowmass Andean Bronze and our Snowmass Nova daughter, Maui Lua, who's dam is the full sister to the one and only Legacy Gold. A Reserve Championship and 6 Blue Ribbons SO FAR during the 2007 show seson alone!
Goldstrike took a Blue ribbon and the Reserve Fawn Color Championship in his very first show at only 8 months of age! He followed that up with a Blue Ribbon at the North American Alpaca Show in a class of 15! At NAAS, Judge Amanda Vandenbosch referred to Goldstrike as "an absolute fleece machine, exhibiting a staple length of 7 inches at only 10 months of age!" Then, against world class competition at MAPACA, he took YET ANOTHER BLUE RIBBON! Judge Jill McLeod commented that is was quite amazing that an alpaca exhibiting such staple length and fineness could maintain the character throughout the fleece, despite the extreme conditions present (very humid.)
This spectacular yearling has amazing bone, perfect proportions and has the appearance of a prize-fighter. He is built like a rock. In addition to the amazing staple length, Goldstrike exhibits excellent density and brightness, incredible character to his fleece with bold crimp from tip to toe along the entire staple (see photos.) An awesome head and amazing coverage complete the package. He is quite the specimen....
As you can see by his pedigree, Goldstrike is a descendent of alpaca royalty and he continues to dominate EVERY TIME he walks in the show ring. Very few animals are capable of consistently standing at the top at Major Level 5 Shows time after time. 6 Blue Ribbons and a Reserve Color Championship and counting..Will be ready to start breeding in Spring of 2008!
