Hilltop's Katalyst
Hilltop's Katalyst
We just purchased this young male at the Coastal Classic Alpaca Show where he finished second place behind the Fawn Color Champion in a "super top flight" class that had Katalyst finish stronger than the light fawn who got blue ribbons at the Big E and at Empire...finished stronger than the Royal Fawn male who was Reserve Champion at East Coast and second at the North American Show.
With Snowmass genetics from both parents, our Katalyst is amazingly dense with tighly bundled fleece.
In a class of 15 light fawns at the 2008 Empire show, Katalyst finished 3rd ahead of all in his class except for two males with Championships already. He then finished second at Vermont in a competitive fawn class. Clearly his past three shows demonstrate that Katalyst is competitive with the very best fawn Champions in the ring at this time.
We think Katalyst's sire, Dreamer's Advocate, is the most stunning black male we have seen in the show ring. This is a male who won championships at three of the largest shows in the country and was the Black Color Champion at the Coastal Classic in 2004....."Dreamer's Advocate is amazingly well put together, perfectly balanced, very straight, big bone, and correct bite. All of the above make Advocate special but it is his fiber that makes him exemplary. Very long Staple, density, soft handle, big time crimp and blinding brightness. He really stands out in a crowd, he is very hard to miss! In fact the Skinners write in their description of Lot #3 for their 2005 Auction The 2004 All American Futurity was the best black male round-up at one show we have ever witnessed in the US and Advocate was determined to be the "best of the best"... winning Black Male Color Champion."
On his dam's side Hilltop's Katalyst had the legendary Snowmass Legacy Gold (now getting a $10,000 breeding fee) as his dam's sire giving him a very impressive pedigree.
This is a super dense male with wonderful character to his fleece...open it up and you will say "now that is serious crimp!" His fleece is high luster and fine at 19.3 microns.
Stud fee for 2009 is set at $2,500.
