This little boy has had presence since the day he was born, and we knew he was something special. He's received the best of his Nova's genetics, though his maternal grandsire, Powerplay, has made a significant contribution as well. He has excellent density, uniformity & fineness. He was the finest alpaca in our herd this year at 18.6 microns, and both his genetics & fiber statistics compare very well with the black males Snowmass has at stud.
At his first show at only 7 months old, he beat out older males to take 6th. The only thing that kept him from placing higher was that he did not display the same organization the others did, many of which were almost 1 year old. Amanda VandenBosch stated he has uniform density & micron on a strong, masculine frame with straight, heavy bone.
As Meeko matures, we become increasingly impressed by him. He is phenotypically stunning, with impeccable genetics. His lovely crimped buttery soft bright fiber is consistent from his topknot to his tail and down his legs. Even the fiber at the bottom of his legs is fine!
We expect to begin using Meeko in the spring of 2011.
