Clients responsibilities:
Provide at least 3 people to help, however a 4 is really optimal & more are welcome
Your team will be responsible for:
Bringing the alpacas to the shearing area
Take down and restraint
Head holding
Sorting/bagging fleeces
Collecting fleece samples for histograms
Rested
Good sense of humor!
Proper shearing area:
Clean, firm surface on which to shear
Under cover and out of sun or rain
Out of the wind
Good lighting
Good power close at hand
A garage often works well
Fleece collection and cleaning tools:
Clear plastic bags
Pre-labeled baggies for fleece samples
Brooms and/or shop-vac
Alpacas:
Dry if chance of rain alpacas can be keep in WELL Ventilated barn overnight
The top line can be dried w/ a blow dryer in a pinch
Rounded up and held close at hand to the shearing area for quick access
Picked as clean as possible (if not a show-fleece, then they can be shop-vaced).
Weather:
Sunny and not too hot :^)
Food & Lodging:
Food and fluids are always welcome
Lodging if needed is appreciated
Payment:
$50 retainer is required to hold a date
Balance is due on shearing day
