You can change the quality of fiber by feeding more protein in the form of alfalfa. I do it in the winter mainly to because their systems have to work harder on cold days to keep them warm and as a bonus I have found that their fleeces are finer at shearing time. I know some people use cracked corn in the winter but I like alfalfa. (Please check with vet, as there are mixed thoughts on both supplements)
