We have three important issues to discuss tonight.
1. Filling the position of president of NEAOBA due to Cathy
McKenny's resignation
2. Filling the vacancy on the BOD due to Cathy's resignation
3. Update on NECC
We have received word from Cathy McKenny that she is unable to
continue with NEAOBA in any capacity due to time constraints associated
with her returning to school. The Board wants to express its
appreciation to Cathy McKenny for her dedication to NEAOBA as both its
President and as a Board member. She will be truly missed, and we
wish her all the best in her new endeavors.
There was a discussion of how to best approach the filling of the
vacant positions of President and member of the BOD. A motion was made
and seconded to fill the presidency until the end of Cathy's term which is May
2011. After much discussion, it was determined that Bill Ley would be the
best person to fill in as president. He agreed and a motion was made and
seconded to accept Bill Ley as the new president of NEAOBA.
This will begin immediately.
We had a discussion on how we should fill the vacant BOD
position. The officers of the BOD will be approaching potential
candidates to see if they might be interested in joining the Board. We
hope to have a new Board member in time for the next meeting.
Jim is now able to check the registrations and monies coming in
for NECC online. The NECC is about 2/3 of the way there for sponsors,
registrations and stalls. We will ask Lenny and Nicola to join us for
next week's meeting to give us all the details. The Board has decided to
extend the early bird registration fee until the registrations close.
Bill will now be doing the hosting of the teleconferences and will
notify the membership of Cathy's resignation as well as the addition of our new
Board member when it occurs. Jim will contact Conference Calls Limited to
take over the payment of our calls from Cathy. Barbie will be taking over
Constant Contact after NECC, as Nicola is now doing this.
