1.Approval of the Minutes from the February 11,
A motion was made and
seconded to accept the minutes as emailed.
2. Status of action
items from the February meeting.
There was discussion
about the payments for the ads for NEAOBA News.Lennie will have a list for us soon.He will try to collect any unpaid ads at North American.
An update on the
Nominating Committee was given by Barbie.She has received the names of two potential candidates from Jen Boshar,
Nominating Committee chairperson.Jen
was going to check our current membership list and see if there might be
someone else willing to run.Since there
are two vacancies this year (Jim King and Dan Nash), it might be advantageous
to have a third person running for the Board.
Lennie told us that
financial reports will now be available for each Board Meeting.This will include a comparison of month to
month and year to year data.
A NEAOBA News update
was presented.The books will go out
tomorrow before North American.We are
now printing 1500 copies.We are saving
by printing 32 pages versus 36 pages and by using a soft cover.These two changes have brought the cost down
There will be an
eblast on the status of the New England Alpaca Classic informing members that
there will not be a show in 2010, but it will be held in 2011.Nicola Blake will be working on this with
Lennie and they will email the copy to us before it is sent out to

4.Event listings on NEAOBA website
While the Board of
Directors encourages the posting of members' farm events on the NEAOBA website,
the events cannot be ongoing. Open-ended events will not be approved.
Barbie has informed
the Board that the Peddler ad is in the magazine.
The Fiber Festival of
New England deadline is quickly approaching.Barbie will email pictures of the booth to Cheryl so that the
application can be completed.Cheryl
has said that she will attend as a representative of NEAOBA since this event
will be at The Big E, which is near her home.The paperwork needs to be faxed to The Big E by March 31 in order for us
to participate.Lennie will get the

8.Status and general discussion about
individual state meetings
Each state currently
has a rep who used to canvas their members on certain topics and hold a
picnic/party yearly.Since we use email
to contact members, we don't need state reps to do this.The question of whether state reps are really
necessary was brought up.We will think
about this and discuss it at a later date.
9. Other business
Lennie has asked the
Board's approval to purchase an external hard drive to back up Quick
Books.Jim could send all the old
records for Lennie to have backed up as well.A motion was made and seconded to allow Lennie to purchase the external
hard drive that he needs.
NEAOBA usually has a
get together at North American on Thursday night (arrival day).With the shortened schedule this year, the
banquet on Friday night and the option to leave whenever you are done showing,
the Board has decided that there will not be a convenient time to get together
with everyone this year.

The next meeting will
be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 7:30 P.M.
