NEAOBA BOD Meeting

February 9, 2011

7:30 P.M.

1.  Approval of January 26, 2011 minutes

A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as emailed.

2.  Status of Action Items

Update on e-zine proposal from A & M Marketing for NEAOBA News

We are still not clear on the screen size issue.  The problem may be with personal computers, not the format of the pages.  The question of the cost is still not clear.  Barbie will forward anything from A & M Marketing to the Board members so we can look it over before the next meeting. 

Report on State Reps

Minutes from the conference call between the State Reps and Pam and Barbie were sent to all Board members.    Bill is now sending new members' names to the State Reps.

Nominating Committee

Jen Boshar has graciously consented to once again head up the Nominating Committee.  She will check with the other members from last year to see if they are interested in continuing to serve on the Committee.  She will compose an E-blast looking for interested candidates for Bill to send out.

3.  Treasurer's Report

There is not much to report in the two weeks since our last meeting.  Spring NEAOBA News Ad money should begin coming in soon.

New England Alpaca Classic has been sent the deposit check, but Bill still does not have a signed contract back from them.  Lennie will check on this when he calls the DCU tomorrow.

4.  Marketing

There was a discussion as to whether we want to sell brochures and the newly created magnets on the NEAOBA website.  IT was decided that only the brochures would be sold.  We will have Breedworks add this to the website for us.

5.  Events

The only upcoming event is the Farm & Forest Expo. 

6.  Education

Matt was not able to join us for this meeting, so we will wait until the March meeting for any updates.

7.  Membership Report

There are currently 127 memberships, including 6 that are pending payments.

8.  Other Business

Alpaca & llama rescue

Barbie is still waiting for the alpaca and llama rescue information and will let us know about it when she gets it.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 7:30 P.M.
