NEAOBA BOD Meeting
June 16, 2011
meeting was rescheduled from June 8, 2011.
1. Approval of minutes from the April 13, 2011.
motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as amended.
Nomination and Election of Officers
motion was made and seconded to keep the officers in their current positions
for 2011 - 2012.
3. Status of Action Items
on the e-zine proposal from A & M Marketing
is no new information at this time.
4. Treasurer's Report
delinquent payment for the Spring 2010 NEAOBA News has been received. Also, QuickBooks is working on an accounts
receivable issue for us. A motion was
made and seconded to accept the Treasurer's report as presented.
ads have been placed in the literature for the Rochester and Deerfield
Fairs. The NEAC ad was used to promote
the show. This will also be put under
the show budget so that we can keep track of the actual amount of show expense that
was spent on advertising.
was a discussion about putting an ad in American Livestock magazine for NEAC,
but the NEAC committee has decided to pass on this at this time. The AOBA certification is pending for the
NEAC show. Some small changes have to be
made to the paperwork before we can accept registrations. Pam will be checking with Nicola Blake on
the status of the certification paperwork and will get back to us at the next
meeting. The final cost for the panels has come in a little over $10,000.
one check for $200 has bees sent out to students who were at the UMASS Camelid program with Steve Purdy. We have not heard from any one else.
has contacted Jack Dibb and Nicola Blake asking for their help with the vet
seminar. It is tentatively planned for
January 2012 at UNH. Bill has suggested
that Matt talk directly to Jack to get this off the ground. Lennie will be seeing Jack and will ask him
to get in touch with Matt as well. Matt
should have a speaker and date for the next meeting. He will also contact Megan Burt of Fraggle
Rock Farm to see if she is willing to help.

about 10% from last year. Barbie and
Bill have spent a lot of time with Breedworks correcting the membership
list. He will be getting back to us with
recommendations to get everything in sync.
Each farm has the responsibility to check and see how their farm is
listed on the website so that they are correctly represented.
9. Other Business
to state reps about summer get-togethers
was decided that we will send out a list by email of when and where the picnics
will be held so that the members could attend picnics in other states if it is
more convenient for them. Barbie and
Pam will check with the reps for the dates and places of the state picnics so
we can put them on the website.
much discussion, it was determined that joining Openherd would not be in the
best interest of our members. Openherd
wants to generate business for their program, but NEAOBA should not be
encouraging one program over another.
communication between Board and members
Board has come up with a few suggestions for the members to be able to be more
informed of what we are doing. This includes reminding them that all Board
members contact information is listed on the NEAOBA website along with the
minutes of each month's meeting. There
will now be a posting on our Face book page as well, reminding members of
this. We also encourage members to
attend the annual meeting and the state picnics to meet directly with Board
next meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at 7:30 P.M.
