1.  Approval of minutes from the July 13, 2011 meeting

A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as emailed.

2.  Treasurer's Report

Currently $12,000 has been paid to the DCU for the New England Alpaca Classic.  Also there were two reimbursements of $200 each for students completing Dr. Purdy's course.  Lennie will be breaking out the Profit and Loss for us for the next meeting, so we all have the figures.  A motion was made and seconded to accept the Treasurer's Report as emailed.

3.  Status of the Action Items

We are currently lining up speakers for the vet seminar in February or March 2012.  Vets that were recommended and we are pursuing are Nicholas Cassotis, an ophthalmologist and Donald Thompson, an aesculapian specialist.  Lennie will email the contact info to the entire BOD.  Jack Dibb and Megan Burt have experience in seminar planning but need to be contacted.

Confirm Board member attendance for the State Picnics

The attendance is correctly listed in the July 13, 2011 minutes.

4.  Marketing

Board members should ask attendees at the State Picnics to let Reps know about events they hear of to promote alpacas.  Upcoming events are the Rochester and Deerfield Fairs where NEAOBA will have booths.  The booth will also be at the New England Fiber Festival in November.  We hope to have the Google map on the NEAOBA website for the Holiday Tour.  It would show the location of participating farms.

Pam will check with The Big E to see if it is too late to place an ad in the Fiber Festival booklet for NEAOBA.

Bill will email A & M Marketing to see of the NEAOBA ad is in the inside cover of the Newsletter for the fall edition.

Barbie will get something together for the Holiday Tour for the fall issue as well.

5. Events

The show committee held a conference call on August 1.  It was decided to add a general information page to the NEAC website which clarifies our show sponsorship and stalling guideline policies, making it consistent with other shows.  The vendors have also been listed.  The committee is planning another conference call about two weeks before the early bird deadline.

6.  Education

This was covered earlier in the meeting.

7.  Membership

We have several new members from various states.  There are 3 from CT, 1 from RI, and one each from NY and VT.

Bill sent out an email giving the dates of the State Picnics and will send out another before Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts hold their picnics.

8.  Other Business

Barbie checked through the highlights of the candidate statements.  We briefly discussed suggestions and will further discuss this at our next meeting.

Our next meeting will be held on September 14, 2011 at 7:30.

The meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Cheryl Miller-Harper, secretary
