October 1-2, 2005: "I Love NY Alpacas Autumn Celebration," Ballston Spa, NY

(30 minutes North of Albany) Sponsored by Spa Alpacas. Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine). Fun, educational, relaxing event in the midst of pastures full of friendly, fleecy alpacas. Weekend activities include farm and facility tours, fleece spinning demonstrations, free mini-seminars, hands-on alpaca handling and agility training, shopping at "The Fiber Nook" farm store. October 29-30, 2005: The Maine Alpaca Association Open Farm Weekend. Alpaca farms all across the state of Maine open their doors to the public. A great chance to spend some quality time with the family, maybe even get a head start on some holiday shopping. Oct. 30th 12:00noon till dark. Fraggle Rock Farm Open Farm Day and Cider Party! Come join us and the farm for our annual apple pressing cider party! Food, fun, pumpkin carving, crafts, hot and cold fresh pressed cider, alpaca poducts and gifts and of course the animals! NOVEMBER

November 5 & 6, 2005 The CIA, four farms in southeastern Connecticut, will be hosting Open House Farm Tours. The CIA is comprised of Saltaire Alpacas in Clinton, New England Alpacas in Killingworth, Stone Bridge in Griswold, Six Paca Farm in Bozrah and Alpacas at Scotland Hill in Hampton. This newly organized group has chosen it's name The CIA, better known as The Connecticut Institute of Alpacas, for it's goal of educating the public about alpacas. Stay tuned for it's next event- a Tony Cotton Neo-Natal Clinic in March 2006. Information will be available at the Open House Farm Tour November 5 & 6, 2005.
